Q: What is the correct procedure for connecting (peering) the APP to the node hardware?

A: The connection (peering) is completely taken over by the APP:
  • Please do not start a BT peering call in the SmartPhone setup!
  • If this happens by mistake, remove the peering entries in the smartphone setup!
  • The process is very simple
    • Switch on the MeshCom node. Wait briefly until FW has started.
    • Download MeshCom-APP from the Iphone APP-Store or Google PlayStore
      (Search for MeshCom and compare logo as here on the project page)
    • Start MeshCom APP
    • Search for the node with "Scan BLE Devices"
    • Click on "MC-xxx-call-ssid" after it appears
    • The bar turns green
    • Wait until all basic data has been loaded from the node to the phone
      (Loading Config from node. Please wait"
    • Existing messages are displayed.
    • and off we go!

Q: What do I have to do if I use a FW version 4.34n or higher?

A: If a newer FW version is used, the following steps must be followed:
  • also select "ERASE" for the 1st FW flash
  • Delete the existing old pairing manually on the phone
  • Then the APP can be called up the first time you connect, a security message appears
    • BLE connected
      Encrypt connection failed - disconnecting client
      BLE disconnected. Reason: 534
  • The APP disconnects automatically
  • Connect the APP again and you will receive confirmation
    • BLE Connected with: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
      BLE connected
  • After that everything works

Q: How do BUTTONs react in the APP?

A: When you operate a button, please always remember that when the button is pressed, the command is first sent to the node, where the firmware processes the action and then the setting is sent back to the app.
ONLY THEN does the state of the buttons or settings change. This can take a few seconds, especially if you switch a sensor on/off, for example.
