MeshCom-DL Now Available on the Internet with a New Server

Network Structures

The DARC supports project services in HAMNET.CLOUD and i HAMNET.NETWORK.

Jann, DG8NGN, has now made a MeshCom server available on the INTERNET to the MeshCom community, in addition to the MeshCom server on HAMNET.

The existing gateway connections have already been migrated to these two MeshCom servers.

Notes:

  • Anyone in DL who wants to connect to MeshCom should use the DL server.
  • Anyone in IT who would like to connect to MeshCom should use the IT server.
  • It doesn't make sense for countries that don't have their own server to use the servers in DL or IT, since not all country groups are exchanged on the EU/WW servers.
    • You can dial into the servers using the command – – gateway srv OE or DL or IT
    • You can then use the command – – sethamnet on to choose whether to connect via HAMNET

The new DL Server dashboards can now be accessed via two links:

To enable this new option in the firmware, a new firmware version, v4.35v, is now available. Please load it onto the nodes and then configure them as follows, depending on your preferences and capabilities, to use either HAMNET or the INTERNET:

  • hamnet.cloud for connection via a HAMNET access point
    • – –sethamet on
    • – –gateway srv DL
  • hamnet.network for connecting via the Internet
    • – –setinet on
    • – –gateway srv DL

Connecting the HC and DL Servers

To ensure the exchange of MeshCom messages, the transfer filter was set identically on both servers.

The filter settings can be viewed on the Dashboard under NETWORK.

The "Filter" column indicates whether messages have been exchanged:

  • ALL … all '*'
  • 232* … all groups that start with 232.
    Examples: 2321, 23201, etc.
  • 262* … all groups that start with 262.
    Examples: 262, 2621, 26233, 26299, etc.
  • 263* … as in 262*
  • 20 … DACH Group for Exchange Between DL, HB, and OE
  • 2 … EUROPA Group

In addition, all DM messages are exchanged with other MeshCom servers.
