Where does the data come from?
The MeshCom nodes transmit messages, telemetry, geographic locations, and path information—along with signal strengths—through the MeshCom network.
This information is transmitted from the MeshCom gateways to the various MeshCom servers via UDP packets.
How does MeshMap get the data?
The server has an interface through which data can be retrieved for further analysis. The interface is accessed via login and, as needed, sends data records in JSON format using the UDP transport protocol.

- Temperature: The map shows a temperature distribution and therefore does not necessarily reflect what a specific person would see. This is as it should be, because everything is standardized.
- Air pressure: Is calculated based on GPS altitude according to the APRS protocol, rather than WGS84 altitude.
- Comparison: The weather model used in meteorology is not the same as the thermometer on the south-facing wall of a house.

What can help us further develop MeshMap?
MeshMap has been developed over the past few weeks in collaboration with the firmware team and the server team. The current version has been installed on the MeshMap server as a BETA version so that many of you can already help test it at this stage. Please share your experiences with the new MeshMap in the MeshCom Telegram chat, but keep in mind that this isn’t a “make-a-wish” forum—it’s meant to support the idea proposed by Martin DK5EN, which I, Kurt OE1KBC from the server team, am helping to implement. Try to figure out which menus are helpful to you and use them to gather more information during your experiments with the MeshCom project.
Martin and I also have a special request for you: We won't be entering into personal pen-pal relationships with everyone who writes feedback. Because that leads to endless discussions that often don't get us anywhere.
